My favorite kinda day ...
« on: March 07, 2012, 03:17:48 PM »
You guys are going to think I am nuts. Wouldn't be too far from the truth. Nuts for a nice Taylor anyway.

I was browsing the forums a few days ago and discovered a guitar that stirred some serious GAS! A Taylor Custom/Limited Sinker Redwood over Figured Macassar Ebony BTO with Coco Armrest, binding and wedge on the back. Many of you know I just recently aquired a 2011 Spring Limited Taylor GA 12 fret using Cedar over Macassar Ebony and that guitar has the sound that tickles my ears immensely. So when I saw this Sinker BTO I went bonkers. With this acquisition I will have to sell some of my other guitars but given how incredible this BTO looks and sounds I can settle myself with that.

I have to pinch myself. Is this real? I have read numerous posts about Sinker but never had the pleasure of hearing it myself. Is it possible to have a guitar that sounds too good! Aesthetically, every detail is immaculate. Even the sound hole is bound with coco.

Well, I'm off to wear out some fingers. See you guys.

Some specs and pics:

GA with Armrest and Venetian Cutaway
Solid Sinker Redwood top
CV Bracing with Relief Rout
Figured Macassar Ebony back and sides
Cocobolo Binding, Armerest and Wedge
Mahogany neck
Macassar Headstock overlay on front and back
Ebony fretboard and bridge
Green Heart Abalone rosette and Taylor logo
Cocobolo bound Soundhole
Antique Gold Gotoh 510 tuners with black knobs
Bone Nut and Saddle
25-1/2" scale
Expression System® electronics

That is gorgeous !!!  I would like to feel how the armrest feels, it looks comfortable.  Enjoy it.

This piece came from L.A. Guitar. Ted is good folk and I sure had a great buying experience. Smooth as silk. Only problem was the pain in my wallet but I can't hold him responsible for that. I can tell you this one will be in my family for a good long time.

I'm pretty sure that's the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen...at least that's what I felt looking at the photos.  Wow, tell us, what does it sound like?
