I love my 555, but almost had a 355-had it not come with a 4" crack up the middle of the back. It still sounded and played very well but was sold to me "as new". That didn't fly with me, so she went back to Arizona.
355s are great guitars in every way, sounded just as good, if not louder than the 555 I ended up with!

Congratulations, Sachi, on that 355. I've played some 12-strings that would cost many times what the 355 does, but not that I like any better. It just seems to have the "right" tone to my ears and feel to my hands, plus it's one of the best values - music power for the dollar - out there. AND, you found a good used one, which means you got an even better deal! Something tells me you're going to be a very happy camper with this one. Enjoy!

Thanks, Cotten. I should get it on Friday, and I'm really looking forward to it. I agree with you about the tone – when I tried it at Rick's Guitar shop here in San Diego, I was really surprised at how nice it sounded. I think it will be a nice accompaniment to a piano, if I can get Claire to play with me!

Congrats Sachi, I too have a 355 12, Just curious, I also have a Ric 360 12, Are you going to switch the octive strings around so it is strung like a Ric? Just curious.

jjracer, I wasn't planning on trying that. I was kidding around a bit because I really love the Rickenbacker sound.

I suppose I could get a Rick if I want that sound, but I'm finding that I don't play electric – just acoustic.

It arrived today, safe and sound! It looks good and plays well. It also sounds pretty good, although I need to learn how to play it properly. (I was fumbling a bit and hitting dead notes as a result.

) It's also comfortable to play despite its size. I'm tickled!
