If you do get it, be sure to look inside and check for glue! :P Hee-hee! I think it was you who made a similar comment to me on the other forum when I got my BTO. ;)

Congratulations! I assume it will be sapele? I really love the sound of sapele and ovangkol and think the 3xx and 4xx series are excellent! :)

Thanks folks! I haven't heard any confirmation yet from the seller but I'm the only one who replied to his post on the AGF, and I let him know this morning that I'd take it.

It is sapele, Cindy, and it really impressed me when I tried one at a local store. I wasn't really in the market but the offered price was too good to pass up.

With regard to that glue comment . . .  if you remember the AGF had this huge ding-dong thread about how awful it was that some supposedly good guitars had glue showing on the inside.  ::) So I had to add that silly remark. ;)

The seller just got back to me, and I just paypalled the purchase price to him. Yay!

Now my goal is to make it sound like a Rick so I can play old Byrds songs. :)

Congrats. The 355 is a great sounding and great playing 12 string. You can get them at a nice price point if used so it's all the 12 string that most of us will want or need...

I agree. I bought this one for all of $XXXX. Seemed like a good price to me!

I don't know how it plays yet, because it won't be shipped until tomorrow or Tuesday. But I'm not worried; the 355 I tried out was exceptionally easy to play.

Oh yeah, duh - you did say you just completed the purchase... ::)

I did like the 356 I played in the store so I'll bet this one will be good like you said.

We are going to see Leo Kottke in June so I probably will need to check out his models after that.

Congrats Sachi, the 355 is a fantastic 12-string, and now that Jumbo Taylors are BTO only it was a very safe purchase.
