Hello from Southern California
« on: June 29, 2019, 11:39:37 AM »
Greetings from California - just a few hours drive from the Taylor factory in El Cajon! Though mostly an electric player I recently traded in a Music Man Luke III for a beautiful Taylor 618e Grand Orchestra and really glad I did. Its opening up so many different possibilities. Just need to get used to the medium strings  :P or change them out for a set of custom lights or lights, I guess I'll just have to experiment.

I've been playing for (too) many years, but you know what ... there is always more to learn and new directions to head in.

Looking forward to getting more involved in the forum!

Welcome Kev!  I started with the 13s that came with my Taylor. Then went down to 12s  Now I'm down to 11s and for me, this is the best gauge.  My fingers are very happy.  Plus, there's really no loss in sound.
Glad you joined us.

Hey that's really interesting - I'm about to go through some string changes, hadn't thought of 11's but I have some so I'll throw them in the mix.

I'm new also kevinmat.  Glad to meet you!

What county in SoCal do you live?

I was just in Orange County, Santa Ana a couple weeks back visiting family.  My intent was to visit Taylor on Friday, but wasn't aware of the "1:00 Only" Factory Tour time, so I passed and will revisit in a couple months.
