Adding a pick guard to an Academy 10e
« on: January 30, 2018, 12:11:36 AM »
I'm thinking of adding a pick guard to my Academy 10e.  Would the guard that Taylor sells for the GS Mini work?

I did call Taylor today and they were indeed very helpful.  I have a pick guard for the 10e on its way.

Be sure to study pictures of Taylor guitars to understand proper placement and rotation. I have seen pictures where owners put one on themselves and they look obvious, because they got the alignment around the soundhole correct, but got the rotation on the guitar wrong. Take your time, use masking tape to mark placement, do a dry run, then go slowly. I have done one before and it turned out great, but I sure took my time with it. Just trying to help.  ;)
