I have a new 414ce and it seems to me that it'd be a lot easier to play on the upper frets where the cutaway is if I removed the strap button on the base of the neck. Has anyone done this? And if so, did you put a little screw or something in the hole left behind?
Thanks

I had to look on mine as I never noticed it before.
If it were me and I wanted to remove it, I'd get some matching putty stick to rub into the hole, that way it's reversible, no damage to the guitar.
Save the button in the case somewhere so it doesn't get misplaced.

i haven't removed a strap button for that reason,
but Taylor (andy powers, specifically) had an
idea to make the upper frets more accessible

tapered cutaway on the BR-VIII series
https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/builders-reserve/series-viii

also, for easier upper fret access, the baby (non-cutaway),
T5(z)/T3, & discontinued SB, series have no neck heel
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...
