My Husband Screwed Up - Could Mean A New Taylor For Me
« on: July 16, 2016, 03:05:10 PM »
My husband is my biggest supporter, when it comes to my music (guitar and dulcimer). He's encouraged me to purchase new instruments over the years. He's even threatened to buy me a new Taylor or two, if I didn't go ahead and make the purchase. Years ago, he built me what I call my "entertainment center". An oak cabinet for the instruments. Yours truly did the finishing of it, so it was a team effort. Well, he has since gotten into playing bass guitar, and joins us in our weekly bluegrass jams. So, now he's into purchasing guitars for himself. He's picked up an acoustic bass and an electric bass. So now, we found our first "entertainment center" to be too small. Solution....build a second "entertainment center". We just finished it and put it into place. He made it big enough to fit all the instruments that didn't fit into the first one, and big enough to fit over a small bookcase, for space saving in the music room. It turned out great.

Now, here's where he screwed up.....I notice something here, not sure if he does.....yet. Do you see it? ? ? ?
AN OPEN SPACE FOR JUST ONE MORE TAYLOR!! :o  Hmmm.......what will it be?  ::)

And a picture of the first cabinet:

Just having fun. I'm a happy camper. Nothing new planned. Had to share how lucky I am to have such great spousal support.

It looks to me like a race to see who gets to fill that space first - will it be a bass or a 6 string?  It is great ot have both people in a marriage into music and instruments.  However, my wife has never said "no", but then neither do I for her sewing hobby. :)

Nothing is nicer than a spouse who supports your musical obsessions! I'm lucky in that I met my wife when I was playing full time professionally, so she's used to it. She tells me "I love it when I walk in the living room, and you're playing" Don't get no better than that! You seem to have some GREAT support there, and he does some really nice woodwork, too! Now about that next Taylor.......................

Thanks Mike! You're right....it's nice when your spouse is there encouraging you and appreciating your music.  :D
Yes, he does real nice work for a retired auditor.  ::) Actually, he's a jack of all trades.
