HELP please! Amp picking up radio station!

Default HELP!!! Amp picking up radio station?!?
This has never happened before. No problems with my Taylor guitars, one of which has ES2 and the other a k & k. Running them through Baggs Para Acoustic preamp to Fishman Loudbox mini. Never any problems, until today when I received my Córdoba ukelele with their electronics. No sound coming through amp, but some humming. Increased gain and volume, changed battery(low battery light not on, but who knows?) still nothing. Call Sweetwater and the tech agrees the pup must be bad, they are shipping a new one. But tonight I started messing with again, trying different cables, etc., still no sound but hum, and when I turn up the gain I get a radio station! What the -- is going on? Does anyone know if this is a known issue with Córdoba electronics? Is my amp going bad? Is the replacement uke likely to have the same issue? I have a gig Sat night and I am stressing! If I have to forget the uke songs or just try to use my vocal mic for voice and uke I can live with that, but now I'm starting to worry about my amp! Any help seriously appreciat

With my technical head on.-
it's quite easy to pick up AM radio stations, all you need is a basic rectifier and some amplification. In your case the amplification is obvious but a rectifier can easily be formed by a bad/oxidised metallic connection. I would suggest that the bad connection is in the uke and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I think that it means you can now learn new songs from the radio  ;)
Just kidding : if your guitars still work fine, with no radio signal, everything is all right...Just play guitar & sing...
It'd be surprising that the replacement uke should have that same problem...Cordobas usually work o.k.  If you have a second mike to use with the uke, you can have it going o.k. i guess...But it's a bit harder to set everything up, avoid feedback & get organized...

How did you do it before ? Seams you might have ordered this uke a bit late...You've been unlucky !
I sometimes see people using the same mike for vocals & uke while holding their uke close enough to the mike : have a go recording yourself maybe, to check it out before you get going...
But I'm not too sure, and I don't play uke...

Good luck  ;)

Thanks for the reassurance. Yes, it was kind of last minute. I had thought eventually
I would buy a uke, but then I found out at the last minute that this event is a luau and I thought it would be fun to play a couple of ukelele songs. And then, I had awful luck. What I didn't mention is that the first uke arrived with a broken headstock. But this morning #3 arrived, in one piece and good working order. No radio! So it's all good.

Glad to hear everything is working fine now. As the saying goes...third time is the charm! ;)
