Question About Forum Software
« on: January 03, 2012, 02:16:24 AM »
Not sure if this is the right place for this but if it isn't a mod can easily move it for me.

I was wondering if the forum software can be tweaked so that, after making a post, it redirects you to that post in the thread as opposed to the current setting where it pops you right out of the thread completely? Or is this something we can choose in our profile somewhere?

colchar, there is a setting that you can enable to bring you back to the same thread after you've posted (although the page shows up from the top of the thread instead of with the last post you just entered). Here is the direct link which should take you to where you make changes in your account. If that doesn't work, then go to:

Profile→choose Forum Profile from the drop-down list→under Modify Profile, choose Look and Layout from the drop-down list. Check the box that says Return to topics after posting by default then be sure to click on Change Profile when you are finished. :)

That's, like, magic.

I am not trying to hijack this post but I do have a question on posting.

Is there anyway to add a spell checker to the icons while posting?

I found this alphabetical list of bulletin board codes in the SMF online manual but don't see anything for spell check. Plus I did a search for it and nothing came up. :( I use the Google toolbar with spellchecker.

Cindy,

Thanks for your reply.  I did not know that google had that feature.  I will surely use it all of the time.
