I don't know whether to be grateful or upset that my playing and listening skill is not advanced enough to ever have to worry about noticing that. Heck, I'm lucky to even notice if my guitar is out of tune without looking at an electronic tuner first. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

Veloz,

I have a similar problem with a Collings OM1A but it happens on the G string, 7th fret and only when using a capo. It does not happen when I fret the string at that position with my finger nor does it happen when I move the capo to any other position on the string. The capos I have are a G7 and a Planet Waves. I spoke to CS at Collings and he felt there could be some extremely slight variance in the fingerboard radius at that point creating the issue. He recommended switching to an Elliott Capo as the clamping action across the strings is more even. I have one on order. Think about trying that, makes sense to me. If that works let Taylor CS know about it. Surprised they did not make the same suggestion to you.

Good luck!

Sprintbob, would be curious to see if the issue with your Collings is resolved with the Elliott capo.Over the years I have had strange anomalous sounds from different brands of guitars when using both G7 and Shubb capos, particularly when fretting high up the neck, but with the capo around the second fret. The noises were definitely not fret buzz, but more like a sympathetic vibration (not a nice sound at all)  / noise from somewhere in the guitar.Apologies if this strays slightly off thread.I am happy to say that I have not noticed this issue with my 812e.

Wow that's an expensive capo!
Saying that, the last time I saw Jason Isbell I think he was using one, the time before he used G7th's
