Del Shannon version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeVDMFgQhxYThis gets kind of wierd because he covered their version before the Beatles invaded America. Thus his version was heard first and charted first in America.
And not too astonishingly, he makes it sound like a Del Shannon original, mostly because of his natural delivery.
I have a copy of the '45, as I was a big Del Shannon fan back in the day. Also have '45s of "Runaway", "Hats Off To Larry", and "Little Town Flirt".
In a total reversal, Peter and Gordon covered Del Shannon's "I Go To Pieces".
And on a personal note, I still play "Runaway" and "Little Town Flirt", including earlier today, accompanying myself on six string acoustic.
