Well, White Bear Lake, actually - a burb.
Started playing back in '66. Got smitten by a local guy playing around town in '69. Leo somebody......
Bought my first 12 string. After that one folded itself up, got my second - a Japanese mass produced Bozo from the Podium.
Took lessons from another local boy - Peter Lang.
Hand started to really hurt. By '80 had to quit playing. Doctors all recommended surgery, which I skipped.
In '06 was suggested to me that since I don't play it, I should sell the Bozo. Took it in to the Podium to have it evaluated.
First words from Marty's mouth: "Bet this one made your hand hurt!" Yikes - it had had at least four trips back to the shop for adjustments back in the mid-70's, and no one there caught the setup problem.
Marty fixed it. Hand no longer hurt. Started playing again.
Bought an LKSM-6.
Sold the Bozo, as I no longer trusted it. Bought a LKSM-12
Now trying to make up for the lost years. Things now come a LOT slower when learning. But is still fun.
And Peter Lang is still teaching! And most of Leo's stuff is still impossible to play! (But I've made a very small dent in the catalog).
