Whoa, Baby Taylor...
« on: March 21, 2013, 10:56:52 PM »
I walked into my local pawn shop and spied a 2011 MIM Baby in spotless condition. Not expecting much from the little munchkin, I picked it up.

I was floored. It was one of the best sounding and playing guitars I'd ever had the pleasure to acquaint. I laid down the $xxx.00 asked for and walked out with my prize. I felt like a thief.

The little beast sits tonally between my Taylor 410 and Gibson J-45. It's got both bark and thunk. It's an amazing instrument.

I don't know who made the tuners, but lord...they can stand a huge string beating before they up the ship.

I thank the poor unfortunate soul who didn't understand what a treasure (he/she) had. This little guitar is Heaven to me  :).

Please see pricing rule.

I have my '99 BT that has been everywhere with me/the family.  A superb little guit that gives up little despite its diminutive size.  Once one gets past the tight fingering on a slender board, one realizes how cool they sound and how well they play.  One thing I noticed, though, is check the intonation: many I've seen (as was mine) were not intonated well ...even some current ones.  Still, it's an easy fix for a guitar tech (and free if you're the orig buyer).  Congrats on your BT ...it'll only get better with age :)

OH, and BTW, welcome to the board!

Weird, though the intonation is not the best, it's hardly noticeable. The Baby still rocks!!

Yes, I'm being honest. I pull that thing out of it's case and it's still fun to play. It was my first Taylor and was a surprise gift from my husband. It's responsible for my love of Taylors.

Actually no, he doesn't play, but is a wise man and a very supportive husband. He appreciates my music and is my biggest fan. He also surprised me with a GS Mini last year and agreed to my ordering a 512ce about 2 1/2 weeks ago. So, I am a very lucky gal. He's lucky too,  to have me  ;D
