I have never been excitable about the looks of rosewood but can appreciate the tone. Well that all changed last night when I saw a new GS Mini in Rosewood. I was blown away by the looks of this one. It has the spruce top. I was able to a/b/c/d it with GS minis in all mahogany, maple, as well as a tasmanian rosewood. I cant believe the looks of the woods they are using on these. The tones are all a little different. The interior mahogany lining gave all of them a warmness to their tones but each one had some characteristics of the tones you would normally expect from the particular woods. The maple seemed a little brighter, etc. I described them as hybrid tones. Anyways as much as people say buy the sound you are looking for, to me, it also has to visually appeal to me to. I just wish I had a little disposable income otherwise this post would have been titled "NGD GS Mini" instead.
