Spring & Fall Limiteds vs. Limited
« on: April 20, 2012, 12:10:12 PM »
Can anybody tell me the difference between a Spring & Fall limited and a Limited.  Is the Limited available through out the year?  Are the Limiteds limited to the year and not quantity, or are there only a certain number available?  I am focused on the 2009 model year limiteds.

With regards to Taylor, if a guitar is referred to as a "Limited", it's going to be either a Fall or Spring Limited. The exception to this would be something like Builder's Reserve.

A "limited" can be "limited" by two things: Either the number of guitars built, or the length of time the guitars are built...

I found the guitar in Spring Wood & Steel listed as a Spring limited. ;)  The thing that threw me was that in the label it does not have Spring or Fall on it, and thought there might be a difference.
Thanks

There are actually Limiteds that do not fall into the category of Spring or Fall Limited, but outside of the Builder's Reserve guitars, there haven't been many limiteds for a while now. Some examples of past limiteds that do not carry the Fall or Spring designation would be:

The Liberty Guitar
The Gallery Series (Koi[blue quilted maple dread], Turtle [quilted maple GA], etc.)
Running Horses guitar (sitka/maple jumbo)
The Pelican guitar(PG-LTD)- 63 made in 2003 (sitka/myrtlewood GA)
Cujo14- 125 made in 1997
The Pallet guitar
Anniversary Series (every five years)
My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood
