Stunning guitar - congratulations!!!  I've never seen a natural maple truss rod cover before - cute!  Glad to hear you got this through L.A. Guitar Sales too - nice folks!  :)

Just saw and commented on the Facebook page (thanks for linking that) ...seems that Dave's guitar is getting lots of love, and well deservedly so, IMHO!

Only one gripe for me on that page is they only hint at the beauty of the back with that 1/4 shot.  They should have gotten a full-back shot to illustrate the depth and consistency of the quilt.  Small potatoes, I know, but wood that nice needs to be showcased :D
Congrats again, Dave ...you have to be one proud papa :)

yeah, when I was playing it last eve, I couldn't help notice the quilt is actually even far nicer than the pictures show.. Its extremely "dimensional" and has almost 3d depth in person.. And yeah, not sure why they used even "smaller" versions of the shots.. (they still have it labeled as a GC incorrectly on a few of them too, lol!).. Small potatoes, as you said.. As of last eve, the album had 850 "likes" already in a day!

Now that you've got the guitar in-hand, I wonder if you can tell us about that new soundhole label that your guitar has. I've never seen it before. Did they give you a choice between the standard label and the personalized one you ended up with? I'd definitely go for a label like yours myself, but wonder if others who seem to cycle through guitars would be worried about that affecting resale value. Is Bob's signature printed or signed? Anything else noteworthy about the label, case candy, etc?

Just curious. Glad you're enjoying the guitar!

The label is not typical for BTOs. But I asked for some custom text on the 2 builds I have ordered myself, and they happily accommodated it on Custom Shop labels.
Possibly an issue for anyone worried about resale value, which I was not.
They did it free, as well; I think it really adds to the customized personalization of a guitar, personally!

Looks like they got a good shot of the back up now and WoW! Congrats Dave, great looking guitar.

That's very cool. I wonder if they'd ever list it as a standard BTO option -- choice of standard label or personalized custom shop label.

Yeah.. I think they should photograph and post ALL BTOs too!

That would be a tremendous amount of work.

A few things factor into it. One, Taylor employs two photographers. There two photographers are already always busy shooting for Wood & Steel, the website, etc.

Second, Taylor builds a lot of BTO's. When you couple that with the fact that there are only twp photographers on staff, and it becomes pretty much an unworkable scenario...

Were those photos taken by Taylor?
