Question about Taylor NS guitars
« on: March 11, 2012, 12:03:01 PM »
Since I am very new to nylon crossover guitars (just ordered a 314c-ns from Jim at Guitar Rodeo to try out), why do all of the Taylors come from the factory with Tusq nut and saddles?  Since some of the steel string guitars come with bone nut and saddles or as a upgrade why don't nylon ones have this option?  Is tusq just the preferred nut and saddle?  Again I am new to this type of guitar and would like some input from the knowledge here on this site.
Thanks!

Bone is a preferred material for nylon strings as well. It was not an option on the discontinued NS series but you can order a bone saddle from Bob Colosi or have a luthier install a bone nut and saddle on your guitar.

Ted, thanks for the reply.  I wasn't sure if that was the way to go for a nylon string guitar.
