I am so in love with my sinker/coco BTO that I almost never play my 814 anymore, except for songs in alternate tunings.  The tone, the volume, the sustain I get out my little 12-fret GC -- amazing!

Dave,

I recieved my Sinker/Coco BTO a few weeks ago. It is unlike any of my other two guitars. Great projection out of this little thing. The note articulation is fantastic. I now know what people are saying when they say it has a "bell" like tone. This is very easy to play since it is a short scale. Oh and did I mention it was loud.......

You can't go wrong with this if you are looking for something a bit different. Very nice guitar.

Yeah, I'm wishin' too. I spoke with Ted at L.A. Guitars today and tried to get him to take a couple of mine in trade but no luck.

I know it's probably not the thing to talk about on this forum but ... I felt so bad after talking to Ted, I went out and bought a Martin HD-28VS. Just decided to diversify a little bit. Sure sounds nice.

I can't feel bad about that Sinker/Coco though. I have a real nice Cedar/Macassar Ebony 12-fret. Think I'll go strum it some and make me feel better.

Thinking about doing one or the other and looking for opinions.

Dave,  I have a cedar/Indian rosewood 812ce on order through L.A. Guitar Sales, so you and I must be wandering around in the same ballpark.  I played one Taylor in a store with a cedar top and and loved what the cedar top seemed to do to the tone, both acoustic and amplified. I think it was a 714? Can't remember for sure.  Mine may be done in a couple of weeks based on an original time estimate.  Having come from a mostly jazz acoustic/electric background, I wanted a warmer sound and a smaller body.

Let us know what you decide and what your thought process was.

Thanks!

I saw that he had a 714 cedar/coco combo (2003 or something)  and was interested in how that sounded compared to a cedar/rw combo.  I've got a 714 and really love it but I've been looking for a coco for quite a while.  I think the 814 LTD might do the trick though.
