Hello from SoCal!
« on: March 01, 2012, 06:39:45 PM »
Hi everyone - it's nice to 'see' so many familiar 'faces' around here! :)

Some of you may remember me from the AGF.  I am so glad that someone (thanks, Josh!) thought of starting this forum.  I was around when there used to be a Taylor guitar forum, and have missed it.

I am the fortunate owner of 12 beautiful Taylor guitars.  I began collecting some of the fall LTD's back in 2003 and also have one 'vintage' 1995 912c with the original Cindy inlay.  My latest addition is a Custom GS with quilted maple & englemann done in a burst finish that is a cross between honey and tobaccoburst.  It has rosewood binding and armrest and backstrap.  It is really beautiful and sounds fabulous and has become my favorite of the bunch.

I am planning to sell 4 of my Taylors soon to help my daughter pay off her college loans, so will be sure to put them up for sale here when my pics are all taken.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and am so happy to find a new (smaller) forum to talk about Taylors!   :)

Thanks for the welcome, guys, and the invite, Josh!  Hi to Michael and Steve - nice to be here and to hear from you both.  It is true, I have been pretty forum scarce lately.  Hopefully, I will come on here more regularly.

I will post some pics of my Taylors as soon as I finish updating my photo collection.  Some of them are of guitars I no longer have, and some of the newer ones have no photos yet.

Looks like this place has grown quickly - did it just start in February?  Hopefully it won't become too big too fast.  I think its more fun when everyone pretty much knows everyone else.  Chances are it won't stay this way, but a girl can hope!  ;)

Josh's 'living room' opened for 'business' on December 8th,
so in a week, it'll be 3 months since the place went 'live' :)

i'm guessing that there will probably be about 450 members,
around 800 topics & close to 10,000 posts by then, but still
pretty comfy & cozy, imho ... i like our little close-knit group :D

i remember that you had a few maple Taylors, among them a 03 914ceL2,
03 614ceL1 & 04(?) 615c florentine engelmann top in transparent blue  :o

your GS sounds like it is very special & i'm looking forward to the pics ...
we'll see ya around :D

Ha ha, Michael - I haven't had the blue jumbo for many years, nor the maple 914ceL2.  Sold them both a long time ago, but still have the 914ceL1.  The cherry blackburst 614ceL1 and the quilted tobaccoburst 614ce are still with me, but I will be putting the latter up for sale soon.  It is gorgeous, but the recent GS is similar, so I will part with it, along with the mahogany/englemann RTaylor GS, my XXX-MC, and my honeyburst englemann topped GA7e.

You have a good memory, Michael (along with many fine Taylors yourself!). ;)

I really agree with you Rebecca.  Bigger is not always better.  On large forums having to wade through hundreds of new posts daily doesn't appeal to me at all.  In fact, in my case, actually reduces the time I spend on large forums.

Again its great to see you here.  :)

Hi Rebecca, nice to have some more girls over here!

Can't wait to see the pics, wow - 12 Taylors, I'm working on number 3.  Trying to get hubby used to the idea - the other night he was in the LR and was quizzing me on which guitar was in which case - I think he thought I sneaked one in on him....., not yet but soon....LOL

There is a nice feel over here and Josh and the mods are doing a wonderful job.  Welcome to the forum!

Hi Rebecca! Nice to see you here. I've missed talking with you! You'll enjoy this place. It has a lot of the same atmosphere that the original TGF did. Even has Taylor Guitars approval and presence! Not Uncle Bob like the old days, but still good. Enjoy!

Hi Rod & John - nice to hear from you both!  :)

This is a fun place to hang out - reminds me of the old TGF, for sure.  i hope you're both doing well.  John, it has been too long - I've missed our fellowship.  And Rod, thanks for your interest - I will get those guitars listed here in the couple of days!

I hope that our many friends in the midwest are okay, with all those tornadoes being reported.  Scary stuff - not good for people, homes (and guitars!).

Also, thank you for welcome, Taylorplayer516.  I agree, it's nice to have other girls in these guitar forums.  ;)
