Hello From the Desert
« on: February 25, 2012, 03:30:07 AM »
Carlos in Phoenix here.  Not all of us are crazy out here so dont go wondering about me.  I was a member of the old TGF back in '03 good to see some dedicated Taylor discussion once again.  I bought an AB-2 from a forum member by the name of Charlemagne so if hes here and about, i still have it and am considering sending it to Steve Klein to have it unfretted.

I've been playing far too long for as bad of a player as I am, but I really do enjoy it and appreciate a beautiful instrument.

I have a 50th birthday coming up soon and am deciding between an R. Taylor adi/coco and a PS16ce.  So I suppose life is pretty good.

News flash - The game changed completely after playing some Lowdens.  Just pulled the trigger on a Lowden Pierre Bensusan.

Carlos

Your post reminds me of our stay at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale for a conference at the end of a trip to the West a year and a half ago (they had some great acoustic guitarists entertaining us by the pool in the evenings) - it took us quite a while to stop laughing at "amusingly" shaped cactuses (or is it cacti!).  We're having a positively balmy day at 50 degrees (Fahrenheit) here in East Yorkshire and I'd so love to be back in the warmth of Arizona again!

Hello and welcome, I spent some time in AZ at Taos and now have an Aunt in Superstition Mountain.  I've been thinking about visiting her as I'm SICK of the cold weather - but that's another thread.

Looking forward to what you get for your B-Day!!!!!
