For those with BTO's

In comparison to your "estimated ship date", how close did your guitar arrive?

My ship date is the 23rd, and I am trying to level my expectations. thanks!

Mine arrived a few days early. That was two years ago.

Mine came in the same week as was predicted by the dealer at the time I placed the order.

I got word the day before yesterday that mine was running just a couple of days behind. So hopefully Monday. *fingers crossed*

I ordered my BTO 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything about an estimated ship date. Is that something they give to the dealer, and it's his responsibility to pass that along to me?

I did not receive a ship date until around 2 weeks before completion. Mine took 9 weeks to complete I believe. Typically the build time is 8-10 weeks, so you have a ways to go. But once the dealer has received the estimated ship date, they will pass it on to you.

A BTO isn't entered into the system the day that you order it. It's normally not even entered the same day your dealer orders it.

BTO's are collected and entered into the system, en masse, once a week. When they're entered, they're not started right away. I'm not sure what the time frame is now but, a while back, the start date of a guitar could be as far out as a month from the date that the BTO was entered into the production schedule. I believe they've pared that down a bit.

Normally, the Rep will give the store the expected ship date if the dealer asks for it. It is absolutely the dealer's responsibility to get, and pass on, that information.

One thing I would stress is for you, as the end user, not call Taylor for that information. Ask your dealer to do that...
