New Cocobolo Tuner Buttons
« on: October 09, 2021, 06:59:00 PM »
Found some nice cocobolo tuner buttons and decided to get them for my 2018 custom built Taylor. I like that the brighter color of these buttons picks up the desert sunburst finished top.

2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany

They look great on that BEAUTIFUL guitar SF!! I really like that twist inlay on the fingerboard. I notice you have almost similar colored bridge pins...wondering what they are?

They're dyed bone. Bob Colosi has some nice accessories for acoustic guitars.

SF, those look superb! You are right that they go well with the sunburst. A really nice touch.

Very nice addition.  Ties in with the bridge pins and body color.   ;)

Thanks all - she's really a sweet guitar - pretty basic with a bear claw spruce top and neo-tropical mahogany back/sides. She sounds so sweet - warm and chimey with a low rumbling bass response, not usually characteristic of this wood combo. She's got AP bracing. Her name is Sonora, named for that desert sunburst, and her "sonorous" voice. Thanks again!

I like it.
I'm not creative enough to name any of my guitars or dulcimers.  :-\
My guitars are called the 914, the Koa, etc. Same lack of pizzazz with my dulcimers.
One good thing about it though, my husband knows which is which, when I refer to them.  :)

Good point! Whenever I refer to one of them by name, my wife has to ask me which guitar I'm talking about  - except for Cujo, of course!

The tuners look great but that custom fretboard inlay is also incredible!

Thanks SoCal!

That engraved twist has always been a favorite of mine. I wish I could get a better shot of the desert sunburst - it's really, deep and rich in color - not brassy like some lighter bursts or too dark like some tobacco bursts. Thanks again!

It reminds me of the Autumn burst that Gibson sometimes offers. It's my favorite!
