Here's a couple of pics of mine from when I got it last summer. I loved the spruce top on this one, a bit darker than the others I tried with a lot of silking, and some nice rich sapele on the sides.

nice :)
the silking really 'pops', along with the bear claw accents

thank for sharing the pics, andy :D

I like them with a pickguard.  I have always felt like it is missing, and incomplete.  That being said you did a good job, it looks perfect.

Funny, I'm not trying to start trouble here but I like it w/o the pickguard - how did you get it off?

Shot in a hotel room in Minneapolis with an iPhone, lately this one has been taking up residence in my son's room.  To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll ever get it back...

I typically prefer a pickguard on most guitars, but I kinda like the Mini mahogany without it. Nice work.

thanks :)

i liked the figuring of the top a lot & i thought the pickguard kind of 'broke up'
the aesthetic a little bit, as the darker stripe on the treble side was covered

Very nice without the pickguard Michael, first time I saw this demo'd by Fazio's on youtube with no pickguard I was startled. I like it both ways actually on the guitar, but it looks very cool without. I'd like to try a hog top but don't think I'll have a chance anytime soon.... I can imagine the tonal difference though just from how the BT spruce and 'hog sound different from each other.

Great thread by the way, be nice if some of those spring ltd's join the throng in time...

My awesome wife took me to guitar center Saturday to pick this beauty out. Can't have it until our anniversary in July though :( Got a new one out of the box and it sounds incredible. Glad to add the GS mini as my second Taylor. Guess I'm a collector now, ha!

An action photo, not a "glamor shot"  ;)...

The Mini seems to be doing fine on the boat, and we've been in a wide range of weather conditions.

Hi all,
New to the forum.
Here are some pics of my new Mini. I bought 2 of them: The rosewood for me and a sapele for my daughter in law who's just learning to play. I couldn't find a rosewood anywhere around where I live, so after viewing the YouTube videos from Fazio's I went to their website and they had 3 in stock. I placed the order and got an email from Bryan thanking me. He offered to send me photos from all three so I could pick the one I wanted. I told him it wasn't necessary, that I trusted his judgement. My 714 doesn't look that much different than most others I've seen (I figured Indian rosewood was Indian rosewood, right?). Needless to say, I was shocked when I opened the case. I would swear it was Brazilian by the looks of it. I wish my 714 had the variegation this one has.
It's also fun to have both the sapele and rosewood side by side to play for comparison. I got to compare the sapele and the hog side by side in the music store and found the hog sounded a little more balanced (kind of like the 714 w/cedar) where as the sapele was a little more powerful with more on the top and bottom ends. The rosewood to the sapele is like  the difference between the hog and sapele only that the rosewood has more top and bottom than the sapele and the mids are also quite "bright". To sum it up, the rosewood Mini is "Powerful". Truely a flatpicker's dream travel guitar.
I must say, I haven't had this much fun on a guitar in a long time.
BTW, I have never had a more pleasurable experience buying ANYTHING online than I did with Fazio's. The concern for my satisfaction from Bryan Rankins was an unexpected courtesy that I thought was lost in today's online shopping world.
