Taylor is good (arguably the best) about supporting their customer base.

But do not think; not for a second, that Taylor will instantly side with the consumer.

A single dealer buys far more Taylor Guitars than a single end user...

I just got off the phone with Taylor. The guy there this evening said "does it play well? (yes) does it sound good? (yes) does it look good except for this? (yes) well then it doesn't sound like a structural issue and that'a all we guarantee or repair" also to "go back to your dealer and deal, that is your only recourse" "if he believes it's an issue that we (taylor) need to address, then we'll hear from him next"

He then proceeded to tell me about his "blem" guitar he's owned for 25 years and how great it is, etc. I asked him did he buy it blem'd? (yes) Well there is the distinction. I bought this 2007 at a discount, but nothing was ever said about it being a blem'd model.

I have been very polite and controlled and will continue to be but my "dream taylor experience" is leaving a bad taste in my mouth and not what I expected.

I know it's subtle to see in person and even harder to photograph but's its consistent aesthetic damage, not a nick or scratch or little blem.

Here are the photographs:

Hey flyingace,

I never intimated this is a slam dunk for you, and hope I didn't come off that way.  But I have personally dealt with the factory on several (several, as in more than a handful) of times over the years where I had concern over this or that.  Each and every time, they showed genuine concern, tried their best to resolve the concern to my satisfaction, and even in a few cases went beyond their actual responsibilities and helped me out when the clearly did not have to ...they were not on the hook, but fixed me up anyway.  I cannot tell you they will instantly fix you up right ...but they have been 100% consistent with me over these years over many a guitar.  And given whet I've read on this and the AGF, mine is no isolated experience and they treat end-users with great respect and genuine desire to make things right.  If not resolved by your dealer, continue with your case to the factory ...even pressing that maybe someone else see your pics.

Thanks. That is what I heard and believed as well about Taylor. I have no doubts they will do everything they can, but my worry is this is not something they are going to be concerned with. Just based on the conversation with Ryan tonight who told me that I should be more concerned with how it plays and sounds and move on. I'm not making this up, I promise. I'm being rebuffed on this one for some reason and I don't know why. Maybe they don't like me contacting them and want me to go only through the dealer. I'll go there this weekend and discuss it with my dealer with hopes he will do something to help me. After that...what is my recourse if the dealer doesn't help, taylor doesn't help?

Wow.

I've known Ryan for more than ten years; long before either of us worked for Taylor.

That doesn't sound like something Ryan would say. Maybe he did, but it doesn't sound like something I would expect from him...
