Let me define BBQ. In North Carolina, BBQ means pork. We'll "go there" later.

My favorite sauces are homemade. Lucky that I have a few friends with outstanding sauce making skills. I've never tried to make my own sauces. I like to marinate certain meats before cooking.
The only brand of BBQ sauce I buy, is called Stubb's. I love the spicy BBQ sauce. Stubb's makes an excellent marinade. The have specific marinades for pork, chicken, and beef.
I've been sampling a recent dry rub craze around some of our local eateries. Dry rub wings and babyback ribs are readily available and rather tasty.
Good stuff, even better with $2 pints.
Hickory smoked pork shoulders don't even need BBQ sauce if you know how to smoke 'em.
