410CE L10 info request
« on: February 15, 2016, 09:14:47 PM »
I am looking at buying my first taylor but i can't seem to find any information on the net about this particular model.

It is a 410-CE-L10 Limited Edition from 2005.

I was looking for some info like what electronics package it has, woods, scale length and the like. Taylor doesn't seem to have anything available on their site past 2011 for their limited editions.

Anyone here have experience with this years model or can point me in the right direction?

I can possibly answer one of the those questions:  my 2005 614 had version 1.0 of the ES system.  It was the 3 volt system that required two AA batteries.

Thanks, I knew the es system was introduced in 2004 I just wasn't sure if it went in all guitars right away.

The Fall 2005 Wood & Steel talks about it. An archived copy may be found here.

According to the article the limited edition has a gloss Sitka spruce top, satin East Indian Rosewood back and sides. Bright white binding, mother-of-pearl fret markers, and chrome tuners. ES pickup (probably the 1.0 version).

From memory, the scale length is probably the typical Taylor 25.4", with a 1 3/4" nut width. These were very good values: basically a plain 814.

I have another of their 2005 fall ltds, an all hog 512ce-L10.  Great guitar, nice appointments.  Not sure what the L10 designation stands for though.   I think the 2005 fall ltds were a great success...but I am biased!

Thanks for the info. I was looking for that wood and steel issue but couldn't locate the archives.

I also got an e-mail back from Taylor and they confirmed they should have the ES1. Also that this model had 255 made. Everything else is in the aforementioned article.

I will hopefully be able to meet up with the seller and finally try the guitar. If everything said here rings true for this guitar, it should be good.

Thanks again.
