Fun GS Mini Poll
« on: January 05, 2016, 04:02:43 PM »
There's a lot of love for Taylor's GS mini (all versions).  I did this poll a few years back on the AGF, so I thought it would be fun to do it here, with Taylor owners. Where do you stand?

I'd love to get my hands on a GS Mini if they made them from solid wood, especially if there are no plans to make another parlor guitar.

You need a seventh option, TaylorGirl...:

"I've owned several over the years, but keep selling them when I need quick cash for another guitar/amp/pedal/Venti Mocha Frappucino"

(Not that I have any experience in this, or would select it if this option were to be made available in the poll...)

I only own one GS Mini, and have owned only one GS Mini it is one of the first LTDs that came out.  My Rosewood GS mini goes on camping trips with me when ever and where ever, I love to disturb nature just a little.

Got mine for travel but tend to play it nearly everyday at home, too. Got 30,000 miles on it and still in great shape. Lives in Arizona but has been played from the mountains of N.C., to the beaches of Hawaii. We have a tiny travel trailer and it's been camping many times.

This is a nice idea Susie.  As you know I recently joined the "Mini Club", so your timing couldn't have been better for me!  Yeah, I know that technically my Mini's for daughter #2, but I'm claiming it at the moment (I got a bass for Christmas and daughter #2 seems to have claimed that, so fair's fair...).

I submitted my vote and I'm not entirely surprised by the early results.  Will you publish some results when you get some more feedback?  It would also be nice to see how the results on here compare with those from the more generic AGF...

Thanks George. Your recent GS mini acquisition kind of pushed me to do something fun, in terms of a poll. The GS mini is a fun little guitar, so why not do something fun and interesting with it. I'll let it run a bit and then post the results. I'll dig out the AGF results, which might be a bit skewed, because it was several years ago. I think over the years a lot more people have joined the GS mini bandwagon. I guess there's probably those who have gotten off it too.

Just a note about my use of my mini's. One travels with me every time the motorhome goes down the road. It's great to have such a wonderful sounding and playing guitar with me when I'm not home. I use it as a couch guitar quite often and have even taken one with me on occasion when I've gone to neighborhood jams. It holds its own pretty well. I also like to use it when sitting at the computer when I'm working on my music software. So, to me, they are very versitile. My first one was purchased by my husband for me 5 years ago as a surprise when I didn't want to spend the money on myself. Nice guy!  :-*

Buying a mini is a temptation, as my Martin DX1 really doesn't do it for me.  For now I travel with my Tacoma Koa laminate Parlor guitar, and leave in my office for occasional playing either the Martin or a 1970 Yamaki Deluxe folk guitar, a hog laminate.

Love my koa Mini - it's the ultimate beach guitar, given it was "born in Hawai'i" !

My GS Mini has been out on loan for well over a year now. Maybe it'll come back home with some good mojo. 8)
