I'm curious if anyone else as had similar results using larger amps. On my Roland Mobile Cube, the ES2 makes my 324e like a cheap electric guitar compared to the ES1 on my 524e. The guitars sound a little different unplugged, but not that much.

Seems to me Taylor switched to a cheap piezo amp and branded it as an upgrade over the more complex ES1 with multiple pickups and sensors. I have tried adjusting the ES2 sensors on the bridge, and that doesn't do much, really.

I also think that it's strange that all Taylor ES2 models are fitted with Micarta saddles...Compensating with cheaper saddle material seems odd to me, especially on their high-end models.

I think it just needs a little eq, but the ES2 sounds more honest to my ears.  The unwound strings sound a little hot on the ES1
Aloha!
