Hi Rick,
Sorry, I hadn't noticed this until you posted again

The simply "discovery" I made was that elixir nanos in PB for the 12er offers better tonal balance with the bigger/rounder bass notes (courtesy of the PB), which balances against the jangle of the treble strings better than does their 80/20 set, IMHO.
Problem: Elixir does
not sell a 12string set in PB (nor do they have plans to, which is what they told me). So I made my own set: elixir nano PB 6-string set in 10s (it's the same gauge as the 12er set), and then order the other octave/unison strings individually (remember to get that wound string in PB, while the others are simply in plain steel). FWIW, I ordered from Stringsandbeyond where individiual elixirs are available. And all told, it is only a bit more money and trouble than the regular 12string light set, but the PB tone is noticibly deeper and rounder. So overall, it is very much worth it to me, particularly since I personally don't change my 12's strings nearly as often as the other guits. Of course, YMMV, but I'm sold on the change. Hope that gives you something to think about
