I'm converted ! K24ce !
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:45:03 PM »
I am officially a taylor fan! Was going to post this as a NGD thread but the sign up process to the forum took a while so its no longer the first day however I'm loving this guitar more and more!

I know I often listen with my eyes more so then with my ears. But this beauty is just plain gorgeous. Lovely inlays and all wooden appointments just sets it apart. I had my eyes fixed on it since the first step I've walked into the store. It already have a mellow tone so I can't imagine how it would sound when it breaks in. Checking the serial number it is dated to be made on Feb 2014 so its still really new. Its not as flamed as others I've seen online but the figuring is still very nice. The ES2 system has a higher output then the lyric pickup I've had in my other guitars. Still playing around with the eq to find the sweet spot.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase!

I played the GS version of that guitar a couple days ago and was impressed. Then, the beauty of it is just unreal. You shouldn't down play yours.....I think it is very nicely figured. Congrats on a gorgeous Taylor and welcome to the forum.

Welcome!  I have a K24ce as well.  Koa is a captivating wood, both visually and sonically!  And each Koa guitar is unique!  Enjoy!

Thanks everyone !  ;D

For those with Koa top guitars, do you prefer PBs or 80/20s?
I'm using the stock elixir HD Pb light and it seems to have nice sound and good playability

I'm still using the Elixir 80/20's on mine, which is what it came with originally in 2012.  Haven't tried the new HD Phosphor Bronze strings on anything but a 814ce that I played simply to see what the new series was like; and my 2014 714ce Fall Limited, which again, is what it came with from the factory.  Frankly, I'm thinking I prefer the old 80/20's myself, although the new Phosphor Bronze strings play nicely.

Congrats, might need to start a K24ce club! Looks great. I still have my original strings on mine, but have a set of Elixir PB light-mediums to try that will add a bit more low end when the strings need changing.....

Welcome and congrats! I got a k26e back in May and really love the contrast in tone compared to my Sitka/Rosewood GA. These Koa's are some of the best looking guitars I've seen and your's is no exception. The vine inlays are perfect with the exoctic look of the Koa; a natural work of art.

YouTube says the video is removed, but what a gorgeous guitar. I am falling for my Koa mini and will have to make a point of trying a full size all Koa model.

Congrats on the K24 and welcome to the koa Taylor club! I really like the vine inlay and how the flowers act as fret markers too!
