back in the saddle - aerosmith
. . . from jersey tuning on gene autry,
"Owned arguably the most famous acoustic guitar ever made, the first Martin D-45"
. . . the songwriters for "back in the saddle again" were gene autry and ray whitley.
ray whitley is also famous for a guitar. in the 1930's, gibson built the first ever sj200 especially for him. supposedly the design was based on whitley's blueprint sketches. that guitar, with whitley's name inlaid, is now in the country music hall of fame. original pre-war design was rosewood/spruce; standard production changed to maple/spruce a few years later. especially given the back story, that would certainly be a contender for the most famous acoustic guitar ever made.
edit> after doing a little research, turns out that gene autry custom ordered a highly ornate 12 fret sj200, tricked out with western designs and inlays, and of course his name.
