Humidipaks
« on: July 03, 2013, 06:11:05 PM »
I'm using Humidipaks in an area with moderate to high RH. I can't seem to get the humidity down below 55%. Normally it is in the high 50's. I've done a salt test on my hygrometer and that seems to be working fine. We don't have an air conditioner in the summer because it never really gets hot enough for one. During the winter we run the furnace and we have a home dehumidifier that seems to help. Anybody else using the humidipaks have problems LOWERING the humidity in their cases? Any suggested remedies?

I figured there'd be a few more comments other than mine...

How long are the Humidipaks lasting? I don't own a hygrometer, that's why I buy Humidipaks. Our summers are hot and humid. I couldn't survive without air conditioning. I recently replaced 3 sets of Humidipaks, so I'm probably good until October. It gets real dry inside during the winter. My Humidipaks need to be changed after about 2 months during our short winters.

You can always try using a different hygrometer (just to be sure), but that might not be practical.

I'm sure some other folks will chime in soon.  :)
