I have a 615 and a k65.  The jumbos are just more of every thing and more comfortable for me.  I perfer the jumbo tone to dreads as I like the mid range response better.  The maple is different than other guitars and is a very acquired taste.  The k65 is just lush with tone and volume.  Hard to beat a koa jumbo 12 string.   Still have a 710 but I'll get another jumbo over a dread any day.  Just what I like.

Ohh... Any guesses as to what the new body shape might be? Parlour?
doubtful -
there was a parlor 35th anniversary LTD model in 09,
but that shape has yet to be added as a BTO option

slope shoulder dreadnought ???
probably not

my guess is something along the lines of a mini-jumbo
with a lower bout somewhere under the 16" width range -
to me, it would seem to be able to offer something tonally that
would complement the GC, GA & GS within that line of aesthetic,
with the intention of being an addition, rather than a 'replacement'
sort of like how the GS seems to slot between the DN & JM, imho,
i think there's a model that could be done on a slightly smaller scale

otoh, i wouldn't be surprised if the new model is something else entirely

Grand Orchestra - mua ha ha ha ha.

Grand Arena.

Grand Stadium.

LOL, a Grand Church would probably sell like hotcakes to cater to the mega-Church crowd.

guild has a grand orchestra model (16" lower bout)

grand church ???
2 GC models would be too confusing (as would 2 GA or GS models) -
kind of like guitar center & golden corral (but different)

besides, there's already a cathedral

grand symphonic orchestra ;)

Where's all the dreadnought votes?  There is nothing like that classic sound.

I'm surprised to see that the GC is ahead of the GS! Since I have shoulder problems, I wouldn't want a GS, but it seems like so many members comment about loving theirs that I assumed the GS would be more popular than a GC.

I think you answered your own question -- while I love my 210 and think Taylor dreadnoughts are generally underrated, I think dreadnought fans tend to look elsewhere and I think Taylor fans typically have a shape they prefer to the dreadnought (for example, I think the 12-fret GC is Taylor's best right now).

So true about looking elsewhere for dreads.  I use to own several Martin dreads including the HD-28 their flagship model. But I find myself preferring Taylor dreadnoughts.  Although I would like to own a 812ce. I've heard great things about them.

Maybe a greater proportion of responders so far have been fingerpickers rather than strummers and flatpickers. The GS is a big guitar braced for medium gauge strings and I'm guessing that it would probably need a pick and a firm hand to work the magic. The GC is so ideal for me because it has a beautiful ring when played fingerstyle, which is what I do.

i'm not sure, but i like 'em :)

especially the older models with square shoulders (early 710 with straight bracing & 420'R') :D

the deep-body dreadnought is offered as a BTO option now as well ... hmm ;)

When you say deep-body DN's is the same as the DN and X10's series? Or is it entirely different?
