I to have bought a 1 year old brand new guitar.  My 714ce was made the first part of 2011, bought it as NOS the first of 2012.  It is in perfect condition.

My 312ce was also a year old when I bought it.  It was actually quite dusty on the showroom wall. 
Apparently not too many folks had even tried it.
It had just been there waiting for me all that time.  ;D ;D
