Wild and Crazy
« on: March 25, 2012, 02:03:38 PM »
All of us have this "thing" about guitars, right? They stir something inside. Both the incredible workmanship and detailing along with the wonderful sounds that tickle the ears. I thought I would start a thread where you could post pics and info on some of the incredible guitars you find. Taylors or otherwise. Should be a thread where we can all learn a little, dream a little and maybe release some pent up GAS that may have us explode if we don't get it out. Know what I mean?

Anyway, I'll start it off. I thought this one was a little wild.

Anyone know what model and year this came out? Just incredible.

Sea turtles made from paua rim (a shell laminate), "green snail," and black Color Core glide on the ebony fingerboard, and a turtle and delicate-hued jellyfish drift on the back's luminous waves of maple.

Pretty sure that was released in 2000...

ziricote

Oh man, that is a really special back. Does Taylor offer Zirocote on their BTOs? OR as on option on GCs?

I think that or this coco is what I will be asking for on my GC BTO.

that's some pretty 'wild' figure on that coco :D
last i heard, ziricote wasn't available ... or, at least it wasn't 3 weeks ago :-\

an adi/coco GC 12fret would complement the Clapton quite well, imho ;)

I played this guitar ...well I don't know if it was "that" guitar but I was at the factory, and man it looks exactly right on.  Great sounding and love the armrest.  If I told you what they wanted for it, you'd freak!  If only I had the extra dough at the time ...goregeous!!

Oh, and all others, likewise amazing!  I love beauty threads like this :D
