How Many NGD's Did We Have in 2025?
« on: January 09, 2025, 08:26:30 PM »
We have been running this thread each year to keep track of all our NGD's (new guitar day):
2013 - 118 reported NGD's
2014 - 169 reported NGD's
2015 - 112 reported NGD's
2016 - 160 reported NGD's
2017 - 137 reported NGD's
2018 -   88 reported NGD's
2019 -   82 reported NGD's
2020 -   60 reported NGD's
2021 -   61 reported NGD's
2022 -   38 reported NGD's
2023 -   33 reported NGD's
2024 -   16 reported NGD's

This is for 2025 NGD's, which includes Taylors AND non-Taylors, acoustic and electric. It can be new or new-to-you (used).

BE SURE TO NUMBER YOUR GUITAR IN YOUR POST (i.e. #xx), TO KEEP THE COUNT GOING. If the member does not number their guitar in their post, I will modify their post to add the number, so we all can see the count.

ALSO, LETS KEEP THIS THREAD JUST AS A COUNT.....PLEASE PUT ALL OTHER DISCUSSION (REPLIES) ABOUT THESE NEW GUITARS IN SEPARATE THREADS (we encourage separate detailed NGD threads). OTHERWISE THIS GETS TOO COMPLICATED AND CONFUSING (PICTURES OF, AND COMMENTS ABOUT YOUR NEW/USED GUITAR ARE ENCOURAGED). THANKS.

#1 Taylor AD12e SB.  Found a nice used one for an excellent price.  Unfortunately it didn't come with the Aero case, but that got me another $100 off the excellent price.

#2.  Back in the gang.  A new to me 814ce from the “revoiced” (2015) models.  The last Taylor I owned was a custom GAce with Engelmann and “wild grain” Rosewood sold over 2 years ago.   Nice guitar but it definitely didn’t have the oomph this one has or the sparkle.  Maybe it’s just broken in nicely being almost 10 years old (time flies) but as I recall the custom had performance bracing vs the advanced performance bracing on this.  How different the bracing actually is I don’t know but this one has got me excited to play more!

#3  2020 612e 12-fret I found at a Music Go Round. Couldn't find a thing wrong with it,and the price was lower than others for sale (Reverb,GC....ect). Got it home and was installing TaylorSense and found that the original factory battery was still in it, with 90% life left in battery.

#4   McPherson Sable, all carbon fiber.  It is the last of the major CF makers and models that I have not owned before, so the collection is complete.  I cannot imagine buying another wood guitar in this lifetime.  My 424-LTD covers my every need for a wooden guitar - love that koa!
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby
