I can't help you with string choices but I have been eyeballing those old jumbos.  Please, let us know what you think of it!

For a jumbo, I'd go with elixir PBs in mediums.  If you want a bit less tension, go with the medium-light gauge, but I think the big body "wants" to have heavier strings help create big sound.
