Well... Another NGD
« on: June 12, 2021, 10:27:38 PM »
I recently got a 914ce and have found the beauty and wondrous sound of rosewood. You'd think after playing on and off since 1974 I would have tried a rosewood guitar before, but no, I hadn't.

I was browsing the Sam Ash site the other night - always a dangerous thing to do - and found that they had a Builders Edition 912ce with 24 month financing. After discussing it with the finance minister (my loving and devoted wife) I was told to go ahead and order it. She probably figured it was the only way to stop my whining.  ;D

It arrived yesterday and it is WONDERFUL! It doesn't have quite the bass response of the 914 but I didn't expect it to as it is the smaller body. The 914 is staying too but this one seems a bit easier to play sizewise.

I suspect this will probably, um, maybe, um, possibly be my last guitar purchase. My wife said, "Uh huh." when I told her that. Boy I love that woman!

That sounds like an awesome pair. My 812ce is one of my “keepers” for sure. I have bought my last guitar a few times now, my wife is good with it all though. Enjoy.

Beautiful guitar! Congrats!

Maybe like you I'd been a spruce/mahogany guy for so long it never occurred to me to try a spruce/rosewood. I finally did and am really enjoying it's rich tone. Shoulda got one sooner and am now looking askance at all my spruce/mahogany guitars . . .

Beautiful guitar, and great to have a supportive wife.  Mine asked to come along to a road show one time and wound up buying me my custom 12 fret rosewood/sinker for a big birthday.  My guitar is certainly a cousin to yours.  Enjoy!
