Taylor helping me with the pandemic
« on: June 19, 2020, 04:36:14 PM »
Still enjoying my 254ce I purchased in late March. It has really helped get me through the “shelter in place” orders due to the pandemic. Anyone else out there have a similar experience?

We are keeping busy with major projects around home, but my instruments have always helped be through difficult times, for sure. This is no different. For me, music just takes me to a happy place. We are fortunate.

Yes. I purchased an 814ce DLX in January but rarely had time to play - until this pandemic.  This was beneficial,  stress releasing, calming and exciting all at the same time.

Yes... I agree... It has been a big + for me. I am a widower of 2 years now, and still working. When I go straight home from work (except for grocery store or drive thru food)... after eating, I grab 1 of 3 different guitars and start practicing daily. An added benefit is that I am involved in childrens church music ministry. Two friends (husband and wife whom I have worked with for many years)... come to my house 1 or 2 evenings per week, and with practicing social distancing, we prepare and learn new songs for the kids.... then record the video and audio for them to watch on our churches Live stream the next Sunday. It has allowed me to be prepared with 2 guitars at my side, with different tunings, to use each week... making the best of a terrible situation.

My Taylor has provided a much needed distraction from all the gardening that my wife has had me doing. Seriously though, I'm really enjoying the garden, probably more than playing guitar, to be honest. Nice to have both (and I recently bought a new sea kayak, so I'm well and truly spoilt).

There is no better escape than making music, at least for me.  Stay well out there.

Couldn't agree more - my new 714 arrived on June 11th, and my other six Taylors are getting a nice rest, while I focus on this wonderful guitar. Since the pandemic has restricted our lifestyles, it's given me the opportunity have longer practice sessions each day. My voice has never felt better, and I'm writing new songs! So there is a blessing behind each challenge we face - I believe it, and I'm thankful!
