NGD Taylor 214ce k!
« on: June 07, 2020, 05:29:34 PM »
I was very surprised to have my guitar delivered by Fedex on a Sunday. But I wont complain!

Been playing for an hour and I'm very happy. I know a Taylor neck is just a bit thinner than a lot of necks but for me and my one finger it made the difference. And for wrapping the thumb around also. One hour and no pain or fatigue at all!

If I had to describe the sound between mellow or bright it's just a tad past the exact middle towards the bright but it's not annoying. Perfect for me. Great with a pick but really shines for me in fingerstyle. Projects nicely. I was a bit worried about Koa combined with spruce but its great.

And this is the first acoustic i have owned that does not have a pick up controls with a million knobs and seI tings that barely change the sound. This has 3 knobs. Volume-Treble-Bass and they are VERY responsive. I plugged it in to the acoustic setting on my Katana and the sound is great. Not that annoying metal or bright or tinny sound that I have always had in the past. Im sure with my Fishman Loudbox it will sound even better. I am impressed with how three simple knobs are so responsive and can change the tone as compared to systems with a b c for guitar types or a blend control and other controls did very little but annoy me.  Thanks for the imgur tips.

Congratulations on your new 214ce. I use Imgur, just copy the link and drop it in between the . I can't remember off hand which link, but I think it is straightforward when you see the choices. Don't have time right now to get into more detail, maybe someone else can.

Looks great, front and back. I'm one that likes sap wood, so I particularly like the back.  :)

Those 214ce K are such a good bang for the buck.  They sound great, look beautiful, and all at a decent price.  Congratulations Finley.  Enjoy.

Congratulations - I love Koa, both to look at and the tone, which is why I just bought one, too. Took off the pickguard, the strap button and switched to ebony bridge pins and Schaller M6 ebony tuner buttons. I must do some pics for my own NGD.
