I have gotten away from the clip on tuners. I always was finding mine to go through batteries like crazy or I would loose them. I also have one very nice guitar that wound up with a mark on the headstock from a clip on tuner so that did it for me and I will never go back to one. However, I use this one by Korg now and I love how large the screen is on it. It is a Korg and is about the size of a deck of playing cards but only about half as thick.

Do you plug it in or use acoustically? I have a Sabine tuner from 1995 that still works, but I use Intellitouch clup-ons.

Both, it has an external mic or if you need to plug it in it works that way too. I like it because of the large screen and it has a couple of differnt ways to display the tuning screen like strobe or standard style and one more. It really neat. I have one yamaha syle clip tuners and it is not bad on the finishes with its soft pads but I still only use this Korg one and I really love it.

When I first started playing guitar a couple of years ago, I continued to use the Korg microphone tuner that had faithfully served me for decades playing brass instruments.  But it was immediately apparent that resonance from the neighboring strings and other background noise would cause disturbances and make the process take longer than it should.  Earlier this year I finally tried a Snark for the first time, and I'm hooked!  Since I use it on vibration mode, no longer do I have extraneous sounds wreaking havoc on the measurements.  I'm sure there are more accurate devices out there, but for my purposes this is more than good enough.

I really dig these little guys from D'Addario.

SORRY - Just noticed I had already replied to this thread. But here's a photo anyway.

Been thru many tuners also.  My latest was a Strobe tuner from Peterson.  Takes a long time to engage before you can tune, and you have to hold the button down for a long time to turn it off.  Minor annoyances, but ....  also the display is too “fussy”. Just not to my liking.
I bought a Super Snark last week and find it to be perfect in every way. I’ll just need to be careful not to stress the ball joints.
