Has anyone tried the D'Addario Humiditrak?

Anyone familiar with the bluetooth D'Addario Humiditrak?  It looks interesting.  Curious if anyone uses it -- useful?  Accurate?  Worth it?  D'Addario website offers it for $xx -- Can't find anything lower.

Thanks for the heads-up on this as it is the first I've heard about it. Unfortunately I can't offer you any answers, but be sure to read through the reviews on Amazon as they are very mixed.

By the way, some stores only display the MAP price--Manufacturer Authorized Price. That means they aren't supposed to publicly show a lower price; however, if you call some places, you might be able to negotiate a slightly lower price especially if it is a Mom & Pop store.

I know Taylor announced Taylorsense, but I haven't seen it yet. I think they said it should be out 4th quarter. It replaces the battery compartment with a new one that has this sensing built in if I understand correctly.
I am going to wait a couple more months and see if they get it going or not before getting the Daddario version.
Great concept though, for sure.

This is my first post here!

In full disclosure, I am the Sales Manager at Sam Ash Music in Huntington NY.  I currently own a new 814ce and in the case I have D'Addario's Humiditrak which I love.  I use  it in several of my acoustics actually as well as in my music room on the wall.  I have been using them since about April. 

I just received today the Taylorsense, and after an easy 5 minute install, I must say I am impressed.  the temp on the Humiditrak and the Taylorsense are identical and so far the humidity has only been 1-2% apart, with the Taylorsense being slightly lower. I would expect that since the Taylorsense is measuring inside the guitar while the Humiditrak measures outside the guitar, including any moisture that the case is potentially holding.  Ill report back once I have more data from it but both APPS are easy to use.  I keep an old Ipod in my music room that is hooked up to the WiFi so with the APP on my phone too I get my guitar's data whenever and where ever I am and want!

So I have had the Taylorsense in for a few days, and the Humiditrak in that same case for almost 3 months.  I have a Humiditrak that monitors my entire music room as well as 2 more in guitar cases.  All of the Humiditraks track pretty much the same respectively, so I am very impressed with their consistency.  So far, the Taylor sense has been on average 1 to no more than 2 % lower in humidity readings as the case Humiditrak.  I chalk that up to the case with its wood, foam and velvet material holding more h20 than the actual guitar, so it will read a little higher.  If the Humiditrak changes a % either way, so does the Taylorsense.  For me its a keeper and fun to have.

The only downside so far with Taylorsense IMHO is that it is only iOS compatible, not Android like Humiditrak.

The install too was literally minutes.  It takes longer to restring the guitar than install the Taylorsense!

Thank you Jason, great to hear. I am going to install the Taylorsense in my 4 compatible guitars, and may pick up the D'addario for the other two in the house, but that is a few months away. The Taylorsense is on the way and I am glad to hear how easy the install is, I may wait and do them with regular string changes, although a capo on the neck and loosening them so I can pull out the peg end works too...hmm. Should have them in a week or so, looking forward to seeing how they read with my normal care and environment.
