Where did it go?
« on: January 31, 2014, 01:37:56 PM »
Last year I bought (actually ordered it) a 512ce-N. As the model designation indicates it is a nylon stringed, Grand Concert body with a cut-away, Taylor's electrical system factory installed, mahogany back and sides, a cedar top with a 12-fret neck and slotted headstock. I find I don't like the plugged in sound and never play it through an amp. Consequently I don't play it as much as my straight acoustic guitars as they are lighter in weight and easier on my bad back and arthritis.

I've decided to sell it and posted an add on a general acoustic guitar forum I participate in. One of the comments I got via PM was that the guitar was never made by Taylor. Really? So I went on their web site and low and behold, my guitar doesn't exist. Now since I have one and it was ordered from Taylor there isn't any question that they did make them. As few as 3 months ago I could find it on their web sit but now it is gone. If you search for it they say nothing comes up.

So my question to the Taylor cognoscenti here would be…where did it go?

that's odd :-\
the 514ce-n is still there
http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/514ce-n
but the 512ce-n isn't even shown as a "legacy model"
http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/512ce-n

it was shown on the 13.5 price list, with the century inlays,
ivoroid rosette & binding, but it is not on the current price list -
the 510ce, 512ce, 514ce, 516ce & 518e models have yet to be updated
on the 'site, as they're still being shown as "legacy models" with 2013 pics

the 512ce-n looks like it's been erased ...

michael,

That's sure what it looks like. Maybe I shouldn't sell this one. It might be a rare version or model? (LOL)

I've been wondering about my guitar as well.  bought a 712ce 12-fret last month, and it is not listed on Taylor.com either.
