maple
http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/woods/body-woods/maple-laminate
or sapele
http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/214ce-blk
the spec changed from one to another, back again & then once more

the 210ce is listed as sapele
http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/woods/body-woods/sapele-laminate
i guess it's the aesthetics of the guitar, not the woods (solid or laminate) being used ???

the 200s were originally sitka/sapele (all solid) with black binding & all satin finish &
the 100s were (& are) sitka/sapele laminate, black binding, all satin finish -
the 200s went to rosewood laminate & white binding & then the DDX/BLK & SB added

the rosette is similar to the SB (single ring), the binding matches the other 200s (white) &
the fretmarkers are large dots, although the binding on the 200K is creme, with small
slotted diamond fretmarkers ... so - gloss black sapele laminate 200 BLK with a sapele neck

done rechecking & editing posts -
imho, it makes it really difficult when info that should be consistent isn't & it's just plain frustrating when info keeps flip-flopping
(i'm guessing there will be a correction in the next issue of W&S regarding maple laminate 200s, unless there will be models added)
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

I also see, according to Wood & Steel, that the 200, 300 and 400 Series guitars will be getting chrome tuners with pearloid buttons.

That should be a nice look.

Is there any mention of the dreadnought deep body being brought out this year?

I see the dreadnought deep body is listed on the 2013 BTO sheet. Has anyone played one?

Nice. I saw in W&S that they were offering the deep body.

As to what laminate is being used, my dealer e-mailed me today after confirming with the Taylor Rep, at NAMM, that the black 200's will be Maple.

While perusing Taylor's web site, it says that during NAMM, Bob Taylor received the Lifetime Achievement/Hall of Fame Award from The Music & Sound Retailer magazine. :)

♪ Congratulations, Bob! ♪

FYI......We're now being told that the Black 200's started off in Maple but soon will be made from Sapele.
