Racing season's getting ready to go.
« on: February 24, 2012, 12:48:47 AM »
As some of you know, I'm the Starter (flagman to you NASCAR weenies) for the F2000 Championship Series, F1600 Formula F Championship Series, and the new Atlantic Championship Series professional auto racing series'.  We are a development ladder for Indy Car and our season will be starting in April...14 races at 7 tracks in the east and midwest.

Check it out here:  www.f2000championshipseries.com.

The tracks we'll be running at this year will be Virginia International Raceway in Danville, VA; Road Atlanta north of Atlanta; Lime Rock Park in CT; Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, OH; New Jersey Motorsports Park near Millville, NJ; Summit Point Raceway, WV northwest of Wash DC; and Watkins Glen International in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

We do road racing and many of our drivers over the years have moved on to bigger and better things such as Grand Am, Indy Car, ALMS and NASCAR.  Three of our past drivers have been Indy 500 winners in the last few years.  It's very good racing with large fields.

You can check out the dates on our website and if anyone on this forum is interested in coming out for the races near them let me know...I can get you in as a guest and you can see the cars and drivers up close and personal.  Just give me at least a couple of weeks notice.

Hope to see you at the track!

Here's a video of one of the teams during our races at VIR in April 2011.  And, yes...I'm the one waving the green flag at the beginning of the video.

Sounds really cool Phil.  I've actually raced motorcycles at alot of those tracks, and even left a few parts behind at Road Atlanta.  Do they run the old configuration there in T12, or the new route aka the boring one LOL

I was wondering if their were any race fans on this site. We were just talking about VIR a few days ago. It's been at least 12 years since I was up there. Now it's a resort and spa. I wouldn't mind getting up there at least once this season. I've got the brochure around here somewhere. I'm going to Rockingham in April, for the return of NASCAR. Truck Series. Flagman did a good job tonight during the truck race at Daytona. What a wreckfest.

They run the new one.  Actually, when we're there in May we'll be running the same weekend at Formula Drift.  Not my style, but a lot of people like it.
