Cocobolo
« on: February 10, 2012, 01:36:22 PM »
I find myself wanting to explore/experience Cocobolo ... so far, I have no where to find such an acoustic to try out ... I am thinking Sitka or Englemann for the top in a x14/GA body style ...

For those of you who like Sitka/EIR combo's in general, have you tried Cocobolo and if so, in comparison to Sitka/EIR, what is your assessment?  Did you wind up liking the Coco better? If so why?  If not, why not?

Thanks. (diagnosed with GAS but on medication at the moment)   :D

I own both sitka/EIR and coco guitars, and love them both.  If I had to choose between coco and EIR, I'd probably go with coco because I think the overall balance is flatter than what EIR delivers.  But I think I got the best of all worlds when I paired the coco with sinker.  You didn't ask for my opinion on this, but really, a coco/redwood combination is mind blowing.
