Guitar stand | Mini Gs
« on: June 20, 2020, 11:17:50 AM »
I would like to buy a folding guitar stand for my Taylor GD Mini Koa Plus. I want a good quality stand that will fold up and go into the back of the gig bag ( I saw it in a YouTube video)

Should I go with the Taylor stand or?

Recommendations would be much appreciated.

Pete

FYI I just ordered and received one of these HERCULES folding stands. I’m impressed, really nice to carry with my mini. Lightweight, feels rugged, good front to back topple resistance.

Totally agree - a much better stand than Taylor's version, and less than half the price!

If you are speaking of the Taylor wooden folding stand, I 100% agree with you.  I admire most everything about Taylor, but that wooden stand in my opinion is a design miss.  In addition to hearing numerous reports of these being unstable, Taylor had them in their show room - and as I was trying different things last year and switching guitars back and forth, there is no padding on the wooden stand, and you could hear the wood on wood clanking and as someone who tries to avoid bumps and bruises, especially on my premium instruments, I was cringing the entire time.

Agreed on the above stand, but even Taylor's plastic travel stand has less stability and costs twice as much as the Hercules stand.
