Hello from New York!
« on: June 05, 2019, 11:25:15 PM »
Hey there!

Just joined after purchasing a GS mini a month or so ago. Had heard about this forum from a fellow member at the Guitar Center out on Long Island where I purchased from. If you’re reading this, then thank you for letting me know about this place!

Bit of a background on me: I’ve been playing semi-casually for about 10 years now on a beginner Ibanez and figured it was finally about time for an upgrade. I also play the keyboard on occasion and alto saxophone pretty infrequently. I looking forward to learning a good amount from everyone here!

Welcome, from a former alto saxophone player (jr high and high school band geek). Now I've settled in on the Native American Flute for my wind instrument. Congratulations on your new GS mini. Which version did you end up with? I really think you'll enjoy your time here.

Whereabouts on Long Island?

I'm originally from Hauppauge, but live in St. Augustine, Florida now (Florida: It's where New Yorkers go to die!). I'm actually headed back that way next weekend for a couple of weeks to do some prom and graduation photography in Smithtown...

I might as well chime in. Although born in Brooklyn, I lived most of my pre-college years in Massapequa Park. However, this New Yorker decided to go to AZ to die!

I lived most of my pre-college years in Massapequa Park.

My ex-wife's family was from Massapequa Park. They were legit mafia. She had two uncles, Nino and Gino.

When Nino died of cancer back in the 90's, the FBI showed up to the wake to make sure he was dead...
