Taylor cases

We have a 2008 12-string BTO with the GS style gator skinned case.  Yesterday my wife clicked the flipper latch and it snapped off.  Is this something its worth calling Taylor about (all we need is the new flipper as it is screwed in and would be easy to fix ourselves) or is this something that would even be covered?  Just curious if its worth sitting on hold to call them.

I would, they are usually pretty responsive and maybe all you need is a replacement to fix it.  Send them an email if that's more convenient.

hi Dave,
by 'flipper' latch, do you mean the latch for the combo lock
if so, the last time i saw that style latch used was in 09 & if there
are service parts available, that would be a pleasant surprise (to me)

imho, it'd be nice if the GS cases were made like the rest of the 500/up,
but i think there'd need to be something done externally to differentiate
the GS from the GA (handle?), as the outer dimensions would be very similar

AFAIK, the GS cases are made by Access, while the Deluxe cases (500 series and up) are made in the Tecate factory.

To the original poster, I'd say go ahead and call them. Usually the hold time is very short--they make a concerted effort to have real live people answer the phone.

I was curious about this so I called Taylor to find out the answer (total wait time less than 10 seconds!). They have used several different cases over the years so they may not have an exact match; however, they will be happy to send out a latch if you call, Dave. You may need to take it somewhere if it has to be riveted, but they will give you a replacement latch.

Oh...and the customer service rep was named Bob. Easy enough to remember!
