514-ceab 25th Anniversary
« on: August 18, 2015, 07:42:56 PM »
I just came across a used and very heavily-played 514ce 25th Anniversary model and wonder if anyone else here has one of these. This one seems very bright, loud, and resonant for a cedar-top guitar. I've been looking for the specs online and it's difficult to find much information about these. I did find out on here that there were 250 made. Other than the abalone, I'm not sure if these guitars were made differently than the other 1999 514ce's.

I've owned two over the years.  Other than the Abalone trim on the top and the "25th Anniversary" script on the headstock, they were identical to the standard 514ce of the day.

For reference, here are a couple shots of the last one I had, circa 2003...

I too had one of these 1999 25th anniv. model 514ceab. the ab stood for Ablone trimmed top. I think the wood used were of highest quality , I remember mine sure did sound great  Very beautiful insturment. These had tortius bindings and small squireish fret markers/ dimond
